A Green Campus is a place where environment-friendly practices and education combine
to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices in the campus. The green campus
initiatives help an institute to take the lead in redefining its environmental culture
and developing new paradigms by creating sustainable solutions to environmental, social
and economic needs of mankind.

Waste Management
The Institute ensures that the campus wastes are disposed of through proper waste
segregation at source and wherever possible, converting it into value-added products
through suitable eco-friendly practices. The institute adopts the 4Rs
(Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover) approach engaging every stakeholder.
The solid waste in the college premises is managed properly by the team of sweepers
& gardeners. The biodegradable waste from the whole campus is collected in the pit
and kept there to be converted into bio manure. The same is used in the college campus
for plants and trees.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY
The campus is beautifully landscaped with trees and plants in the available space. The campus of this institute is full of greenery. The indoor air quality is extremely good. The team of gardeners have monitored and maintained whole campus with full of greenery. Anti-pollution seminars also conducted for the students to aware them about bad affects of pollution on us and our surroundings. The students and staff are encouraged to use public transport and car pool, bicycle and battery-operated vehicles time to time to limit the emissions.
TREE PLANTATION
As per the green practices followed in the campus, VTI is consistently contributing towards planting more trees within and outside the campus. Herbal plants, fruit bearing trees, flowering plants and ornamental plants have been planted to clean the atmosphere.
Institute has a rich variety of herbal plants and trees. A herbal Garden containing medicinal plants and herbs of importance have been maintained at Horticulture area of the institute. The students and staff get benefit from the herbal plants available as and when required.
