The Department of Automobile Engg.was started in the year 1987 to cater to the need of Automobile Industry & now we are in a position to provide Automobiles Engneers i.e. Skilled manpower at Supervisior level to take care of requirements of Automobile Industry in the present scenario with boom on Automobile sector in our country. Automobile Deptt. has got the following laboratories :-

1. Automobile Workshop
2. Auto Service Station
3. Auto Electrical Equipment Lab.
4. Auto Engines Lab.

Besides working in these laboratories,the students of Automobile Engg. are sharing Material Testing Lab.,Applied Mechnaics Lab., & the workshop facilities of the Mechanical Engg. Deptt.,Modern types of Gadgets,tools & the equipments,Machinery like wheel Aligning arrangements,Spark Plug Tester & Cleaner & F.T. Pump testing facilities are available in the automobile engg. lab.Working models/old vehicles of scooter,motor cycle, car, jeep, etc. are available for different types of demonstration,testing ,over hauling etc.Digital smoke tester for Diesel Engines have also been provided with the assistance of World Bank.

With the current boom in the Automobile Industry (it was the largest growing industry in India outside the ITES industry), the department is looking to expand its horizons.
