The Department offers a three years course leading to Diploma in Civil Engg.. Awarded by Haryana State Board of Technical Education.The programme aims at providing the students with theoretical & practical knowledge required for operation , maintenance and elementary design aspects of Civil Engg. projects.The department has fully developed labs for conducting all types of practical classes in these subjects :-

• Building Construction Lab.
• Public Health Lab.
• Concrete Lab.
• High way Engg.
• Hydraulics Lab.
• Environmental Lab.

The Department is providing consultancy services & is conducting testing of cement, concrete, bricks, soils,Highway Materials,water & sewage samples for various Govt. Deptts., Public and voluntary agencies located at Rohtak & nearby areas.

In addition, the Department has the expertise to handle the laying out of minor roads , public health and housing scheme.It can supervise any type of construction projects & can also cater to the requiements of designing of steel structures for reinforcement.

The laboratories in the deptt. are fully equipped to cater to testing of the water & sewage of all types.Besides above the department is fully responsible for civil construction & maintenance of polytechnic building & also that of two hostels viz. Boys Hostel & Girls Hostel.

The product of the Institute find placement with various Government , Public and Private sector Organisations like PWD(B & R), PWD(Public Health),Marketing Board,Hafed,Housing Board etc.In adddition numerous construction companies / organisations also employ pass-outs from this department. Some of the enterprising students have also become enterpreneurs/civil contractors & have set up their own business houses.
